5 Instagram Artists You Need to Follow

On a social media site filled with “models”, “influencers”, and “public figures”, there are still a few great content creators and artists on Instagram there who genuinely use their platforms to connect and unite their followers rather than shameless self-promotion.  Check out these super relatable artists work and be sure to support their work.

1. ButLikeMaybe

All of the things you love about being a single millenial is drawn in cartoon form. I am an Instastan (it’s a word, don’t question it) for Arianna Margulis and her stick figure alter ego (I swear I’m in the top 100 likes and comments on her page but whatevs). What I love most about her work is it’s niche relatability, ‘toons about life and stuff… for single, semi-alcoholic, millenial woman. Just take a look for yourself. You can also order prints of her work on her website www.butlikemaybe.com.

2. ByMarieAndrew

Life should be equal parts righteousness and ratchetness and Marie Andrews doodles and charts bring balance to the challenges in adulting. Again, it’s her simplistic interpretation of some of lifes most relatable moments that keeps me double tapping every time her posts fill my feed. Buy her book Am I There Yet? and check out her work here: www.bymariandrew.com.

3.  AmandaOleander

The most recent addition to “Insta Artists I’m Obsessed With” is the intricate and breathtaking drawings of Amanda Oleander. Her “one room” takes on life, love, and being an unapologetic woman keep me coming back every day to see her latest 100 Days of Drawing post. You can see her process in a video below and buy her work here: www.amandaoleander.com.

Drawing 90/100 of the drawing a day for 100 days challenge. Before you keep reading what is your interpretation? . . . . . . . . Sometimes we spend so much time with other people and not enough time by ourselves exploring our thoughts and being present with ourselves and our feelings. When we do get time alone we turn on the TV, we listen to music or we go online. How much time do you truly dedicate to yourself? I feel that it is vital to grow as a person if we spend more time with ourselves exploring our mind, thoughts and feelings and less time drowning them out with other things. I’ve had these thoughts for many years and illustrated this as a quick sketch 4 years ago and posted it on my IG page. I’ll post the original sketch in my IG story. ¿Cuánto tiempo te dedicas realmente a ti mismo? ———————————————————— Art prints and original paintings on the site link in bio?

4. ScribblesByNicole

A cynic’s guide to adulting. Nicole’s scribbles depict all of life’s hiccups, awkward moments, and downright embarrassing events in the most comical of ways. Her posts almost get me excited for a good chuckle. Buy her work here: www.scribblesbynicole.com.
